British Canoeing Aquatic First Aid Level 1
30th March 2024
Holding an 8 hour first aid qualification is a requirement for BC Coaches level 1 and 2 and for Paddlesport Instructors. We recommend that all kayakers and canoeists should hold at least an 8 hour qualification, such as the British Canoeing Level 1 Aquatic First Aid.
BADCC Tryweryn Trip 2024
28th and 29th September 2024 - save the date
This paddle will be for intermediate and advanced white water paddlers only - those comfortable of the Dart Loop and rivers of a similar difficulty.
River Barle Weekend 2024
8th to 10th November 2024
In November 2024 we will be visiting the River Barle in north Devon. This scenic river is mainly grade 2 white water, though if the water levels are high, the top section from Tarr Steps to Dulverton can be continuous grade 3 with an alpine feel.
River Usk Weekend 2024
6th to 8th December 2024
In December we will be making our yearly pilgrimage to the River Usk in South Wales. This is a scenic touring white water run on mainly grade II water. There are some grade III drops near Sennybridge, at Mill Falls and at Spuhler’s Folly, although all can be portaged. A good river to practice your boofing!
Colt Hill Saturdays
Saturday Canal Sessions - 9:30am - 12:30pm
There are paddling sessions for Club Members at Colt Hill on many Saturday mornings (depending on availability of Club Coaches and Volunteers.) These sessions can include led paddles and coaching and the possibility of individual tuition. The Boat Store will be open for loan of Club kit between 09:30 and 10:00 (bringing kit back between 12:00 and 12:30)
